Top Five: Tips to Planning a Romantic Night at Home

We all so often get caught in the rat race and forget to slow down, live in the moment, and appreciate our significant others. If you’re looking simple ways to reconnect and/or build a deeper connection with your significant other, follow these tips and you’ll be well on your way.

1. Dine-In

Skip the fancy restaurant and dine-in. You’re going to need your energy, so make a good meal together at home. To loosen up, splurge and get yourselves a nice bottle of wine, mix up your favorite cocktails (or take a shot). Cheers to the good life and enjoy a home-cooked sit-down meal together to get the evening started just right.

2. Revive

Before engaging with your partner, take a shower, take a bath, whatever you like to do. Don’t forget to shave specific areas as needed – Fellas trim, Ladies, wax! Feeling fresh and clean not only relaxes you, but it also increases your confidence, and your partner will thank you later.

3. Relax

Light candles and have a glass of wine (maybe even two). If you’re really looking to unwind, experiment with aphrodisiacs and essential oils. Whatever floats your boat. Just remember the goal here is to put your body at ease, so it’s in its most relaxed state. Relax‚ĶChill‚Ķnothing more, nothing less.

4. Set the Mood

Movie nights never get old no matter how old you are, it just depends on the timing. Romance is the theme, so be sure to pick a movie filled with love and positive vibes. Physical Touch is a common Love Language, but take it slow. Remember, making contact with your partner doesn’t always have to result in sex. Take this opportunity to reconnect with each other. Which leads me to my next point.

5. Intimate Connection

By all means, take your time to explore your partner’s body. This is about making them feel good, so pay attention to body language. Whether its cuddling, a relaxing massage, or just a gold ole fashioned make-out session, take your time. At this point if things start to heat up, manage expectations, and just go with the flow.

Pretty basic, right?

At the end of the day it’s all about taking a moment to show and share your appreciation for your loved ones!
