Join me on my NBA 2K19 MyCAREER Journey!

I’ve been playing NBA 2K since 2K13 and once the face scan was introduced and the MyCAREER storyline got beefed up, I’ve been hooked ever since. I’ve created players in other games before (Madden, MLB The Show, Tiger Woods Golf) but the enhanced features and life like gameplay in the NBA 2K series just took my gaming experience to a whole new level.

The Face Scan

Long story short, I finally purchased and downloaded the game, so let’s get down to business.  My time is limited, so hopefully, I can knock out this face scan on the first try. In order to make MyPLAYER as real as possible, I want to upload my face into the game. So I downloaded the NBA 2K19 app on my smartphone to begin the scan.

“I’ve been doing the facial scan for the past few releases of NBA 2K and let’s be honest, it really is a science…”

I feel like I had a really good face scan in 2K17, but it took several attempts and a lot of tweaking to finally get my face to look almost identical to my actual face. However, I’m a Dad now and let’s keep it real, I don’t have much time for gaming these days…and I definitely don’t have the time to fine tune a face scan.

The Outcome

After researching how to get the perfect face scan I learned that in order for this to work the way it was intended to, it’s highly recommended to do the scan outdoors during the daytime OR find a room within your home or apartment that has the most natural lighting.

I started this post at 3 AM on a Saturday morning, so going outside is out of the question.  But since I’m so anxious to jump into the game and get things rolling, a facial scan indoors will have to do for now.
