The best way to help me get over this is to write about it, so here we go…
After a rough day and a long commute, all I could think about was getting home to my family, enjoying a beer, and grilling this juicy ribeye steak I just snatched up on my way home.
I’m no Grill Master but I do ok, but the last two steaks I’ve attempted to grill have been completely destroyed…and by “destroyed” I mean burnt to a crisp! 🤦🏽♂️
Long story short, I put my son to bed and then headed straight to the grill. I seared the steak on both sides for two minutes each and then tossed it on to the top rack. After about 15 minutes the internal temp was about 144°F so I decided to throw it back on direct heat for five more minutes.
SMH…What a disaster.
This is the second time I ended up with a crappy steak because I underestimated the time needed to finish cooking on indirect heat.
Don’t you just hate it when you have your mind set on fulfilling a craving and then all of a sudden it gets ruined; and the sad part is you have no one else to blame but yourself. I even took the time to make my own rub and everything, only for it all to go to waste.
Now I’m stuck eating a steak that taste like it feel out of the bottom of my grill.
