The Best HBO Series to Binge Right Now

Whether you’re working from home, starting a new business, or finally getting around to that unfinished project, make sure you carve out some time for yourself. Over the past several months, Covid-19 has had us indoors, and let’s be honest, it’s easy to get cabin fever these days. Needless to say, now might be a good time to catch up on shows you’ve been meaning to try or just rewatch some oldies. So with that said, here are some of my favorite HBO series and documentaries that I guarantee will have you glued to the tube. Remember, its not TV, its HBO.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Go deep inside the life of ex-NFL player Spencer Strasmore, turned Financial Mogul, in this comedy-drama HBO Series starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and John David Washington. Executive Produced by Steve Levinson, Peter Berg, and Mark Wahlberg.

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

This comedy-drama series takes a deep dive into the friendship of four black women as they navigate life and social issues in Los Angeles. Written and Produced by Issa Rae. Starring Issa Rae, Yvonne Orji, Natasha Rothwell, and Amanda Seales.

The Defiant Ones

Rating: 5 out of 5.

The Defiant Ones is a four-part interview-style documentary that covers the friendship between music icons Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine. This short documentary takes a deep dive into the ins and outs of the music industry featuring comments from other music icons like Eminem, Ice Cube, Gwen Stefani, Snoop Dogg, and Bruce Springsteen.

Being Serena

Being Serena is a five-part documentary that gives fans a behind-the-scenes look into the life and mentality of one of the most dominating athletes in the world. The Shop: Uninterrupted

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

Where I’m from, the barbershop is where you get all the juicy gossip, knowledge, and wisdom. The Shop: Uninterrupted is a open forum talk show co-executive produced by NBA superstar LeBron James, and features some of today’s hottest celebrities, athletes, and entertainers. Viewer discretion is advised.
